Erik Joseph Burke
The youngest of two, Erik has mastered the art of appearing as a slacker, while actually being a rather brilliant person. At the age of nine, his teachers told him that he should be in the more advanced classes, saying that he appeared to have the mind of at least a ten or eleven year old. He was always reading at a higher level then the rest of his class, always doing his homework, always getting perfect grades. In third grade, he was given the oppurtunity to skip ahead to 4th grade, being told that he was smart enough to skip ahead. His mother gave him a few days to think about the decision. It only took his best friend telling him that it would "totally ruin any cool points" if he did, for him to decide that he was going to suffer through third grade. Why not continue being at the top of his class, anyway? As soon as Junior high came, Erik began to experiment in other social aspects. He joined almost every team the school had to offer (Baseball and football being his strongest points), he was in the drama class (he won the lead role in every play both 7th and 8th grades), and he still managed to remain at the top of his class. Once high school came he joined the student body. By his junior year he had been elected Junior Class President, and even seems to be running unopposed in his senior year. Yes, Erik Burke is the golden child. Does he have any flaws? Any drawbacks? Anything that could make him less then perfect? Well...he is a avid pot smoker. He was handed his fist joint at thirteen and has no intention of stopping. He insists it helps him concentrate. Never one to be able to lie, or keep even the simplest of secrets, everyone knows of his love for marijuana. From his best friend down to his mother and sister (hell, he tends to smoke with his sister more then he'll let on.) He loves how it relaxes him and makes it easier for him to pay attention to what is going on around him. He will always thank pot for his relaxed attitude, laid back behavior. As for his future, his college ambitions...he has been informed that he could get into possibly any college he would wish, from Ivy League down to community college. Truth be told, he would rather not go to Harvard or Yale, they don't seem like he would receive the college experience he so yearns for. He would much rather stay local, have fun while he still can. Of course none of this matters to him right now. All he cares about is keeping his grades up and his life good.
